The RED MOON Coming-of-age Project is designed to:
· Create and sustain multi-age communities of women and girls coming-of-age
· Support the coming-of-age transition with art and heart
· Strengthen positive body image and self-esteem, embrace menstrual cycle as spiritual journey, and model confident womanhood to girls
· Create a network of mentoring relationships
· Set a foundation for life-long friendships through mothering and mentoring
· Strengthen bonds among mothers
· Deepen mutual trust while rising to new levels of maturity and accountability at any age
For:
Girls ages 11 and up, and women of all ages
Duration:
One school-year: 9 monthly meetings on week ends,
2½ hours each
Organization:
- School sponsors project by announcements and publicity
- Project takes place on school’s premises
Fee:
$55.00 per month, for each mother-daughter pair
